Local elections took place in France over the weekend and there was disappointment for French far-right leader, Marine Le Pen.
Initial results indicate that the centre-right UMP party led by former president Nicholas Sarkozy has taken first place in round one.
Opinion polls had suggested that the far-right National Front could win - prompting concern in both left and right mainstream parties.
