France rugby player cited over head kick

France's Romain Taofifenua could miss their Test clash with the Wallabies next month after being cited for allegedly kicking an opponent in the head.

France lock Romain Taofifenua risks missing the November internationals, including a date with the Wallabies, after being cited for allegedly kicking Ulster's Stuart Olding in the head.

The 24-year-old has been summoned to Dublin by European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) to answer the allegations relating to Saturday's European Champions Cup match between his team Toulon and the Northern Irish province.

According to the EPCR statement, Taofifenua could face anything from four-to-52 weeks of suspension.

Even a four-week ban would rule him unavailable to play when the Wallabies face France in Paris on November 15.

It would also mean him missing France's Tests against Fiji and Argentina.
