Marriage equality campaigner Frances Abbott has celebrated the success of the yes campaign by getting engaged to her boyfriend of two weeks.

The 26-year-old daughter of former prime minister Tony Abbott, who campaigned against same-sex marriage, announced her engagement to Sam Loch, an Olympics rower, via Instagram on Sunday.

"Hey Feyonce, Two weeks was all it took to know that forever with you was a mighty fine idea," she said with series of photobooth pictures with Loch, followed by a series of enthusiastic hashtags.

Abbott is a fitness blogger and recently competed in a body-building competition, while Loch, 34, is a weightlifter who competed in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics.
