Frances O'Connor bypassed for Golden Globe

Frances O'Connor was Australia's last hope of winning a 2015 Golden Globe. Sadly she missed out too.

Australian actress Frances O'Connor has missed out on the Golden Globe.

The Perth-raised O'Connor was nominated for best actress in a mini-series or TV movie for her stunning performance as a mother devastated by the abduction of her son in The Missing.

The winner was Maggie Gyllenhaal for The Honorable Woman.

The other nominees were Jessica Lange (American Horror Story: Freak Show), Frances McDormand (Olive Kitteridge) and Allison Tolman (Fargo).

The Golden Globes are being held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Earlier, Australia's Sia Furler also came up empty-handed in the original song category.
