Alain Robert, 52, climbed the 307 metre high Cayan Tower in Dubai on Sunday, adding it to a long list of conquests.

The avid climber has scaled some of the world's tallest and most iconic buildings aided by a harness, from the Empire State Building to the Sydney Opera House, but on Sunday he climbed unaided up a skyscraper famous for its twists and turns.

Starting his ascent in the evening without the protection of a safety harness, Robert scaled the building quickly, only helped by a pouch of chalk to dry his hands.

The climb secured Robert's title of "the most buildings climbed by a person", awarded by the Guinness World Records. His record is currently 121 buildings.

In 2011 he climbed the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, standing at 829 metres.
