Friend pleads for answers in Sydney murder

The wife of a popular truck business owner bashed to death in their western Sydney home is still recovering in hospital after the attack.

Grieving family and friends of a popular 69-year-old man clubbed to death in his own home want his killers brought to justice.

They are still shocked and searching for answers after Keith Cini was bludgeoned to death during a horrific home invasion in Badgerys Creek, west of Sydney, last Friday.

"We want someone to be brought to justice over it, there is no doubt about that," his friend of 25 years Fred Ziems told AAP.

"If someone hears something it would be the right thing to do to come forward and report it to police ... please."

Police believe Mr Cini and his wife were attacked by up to three bat-wielding men, who smashed their way into the couple's brick home.

Mr Cini, who operated his Keith Cini Pty Ltd freight company and a piggery from his semi-rural property, died in his home.

His wife, Lucy, 67, is still in hospital recovering from the brutal attack that left her with a broken wrist and head injuries.

Mr Cini built his trucking business from the ground up, recently delivering pork to restaurants throughout Cabramatta and Sydney.

He also had a stake in the Wollondilly Abattoir at Picton, which he would visit two or three times a week.

The future of his business is not yet clear and Mr Ziems says he doesn't know if anyone is going to take it over.

Mr Ziems, who is also the chairman on the abattoir board, said he couldn't think of why anyone would want to harm his hard-working mate.

"We are all shocked with what has happened," he said.

"It has affected everyone."

One of Mr Cini's former employees told AAP last week there had been conflict between Mr Cini and some former employees last year.

Friend Bob Bullivant told News Corporation last week Mr Cini could have had about $10,000 in takings at his house when he was bashed.

Green Valley police Inspector Brendan Bernie said no one had been arrested over the attack and the investigation was ongoing.

A Liverpool Hospital spokeswoman confirmed Mrs Cini was in a stable condition.
