A year after stripping sex from her political party's name, Victorian MP Fiona Patten wants to put herself into the title.

The Reason Party leader has applied to change the state party's name for the second time in 12 months, proposing Fiona Patten's Reason Party, after shifting from the Sex Party in August.

The proposed change, lodged with the Victorian Electoral Commission and publicised on Thursday, comes in the lead-up to November's state election and any objections must be registered by August 13.
