Frontline trio back for Warriors hit-out

Simon Mannering, Jacob Lillyman and Konrad Hurrell will make their first appearance of the Warriors' pre-season in an intra-club match in Auckland.

Skipper Simon Mannering, prop Jacob Lillyman and centre Konrad Hurrell will have their first hit-out of the year in an internal Warriors trial in Auckland on Saturday.

The three missed the Auckland Nines and the club's two NRL trials against Gold Coast and Penrith.

Mannering returns after a heavy workload in 2014, when he played almost every minute for the Warriors and all five Tests as Kiwis captain, culminating in victory in the Four Nations final.

Lillyman and Hurrell had surgery on respective knee and wrist injuries in the off-season.

The teams for the match at Papakura will be selected from the Warriors' first-grade and New South Wales Cup squads.

The Warriors open their NRL season away to Newcastle on March 7.
