The 16th stage of the Tour de France has seen Portugal's Rui Costa break through for his second career stage win by a comfortable margin, but as he was doing so, the Tour's overall leader and a key rival were enduring an uncomfortable descent into Gap.
Briton Chris Froome's lead over his nearest rivals is so great that some are willing to try and sneak seconds wherever they can.
During the 168-kilometre 16th stage from Vaison-La-Romaine to Gap, Froome and Spaniard Alberto Contador almost brought an abrupt halt to their tours by running off the road at high speed.
But as Murray Silby reports, Movistar's Rui Costa had no such difficulties.
