Oscar-winning movie Frozen has officially become the highest-grossing animated film of all time, earning $US1.07 billion ($A1.16 billion) to date worldwide.
The family film, which features characters voiced by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, surpassed Toy Story 3's $US1.06 billion haul to take the title.
It's also now entered the top 10 list of the biggest global blockbusters in cinema history, bumping Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest from 10th place.
Frozen is now likely to overtake The Dark Knight Rises, which sits in ninth spot with $US1.08 billion, as it is still proving to be box office gold in the Far East, where it just opened in Japan, its final market.
