Wests Tigers skipper Robbie Farah is wary of a Newcastle side who are adamant they haven't given up on their season despite their lowly position on the NRL ladder.

After 11 games the Knights sit equal last with just two wins from 11 games, and their finals hopes all but gone.

Newcastle captain Kurt Gidley has declared the embattled club with continue to fight and ahead of Sunday's trip to Hunter Stadium and Farah said the Tigers have learned the hard way the trip up the F3 can be one of the toughest road trips in the game.

The Tigers were belted 42-10 at Hunter Stadium last year and 38-20 in 2012.

"The last two times we have been to Newcastle we have been beaten by 40, so that is something we have to address, we need to go up there and put in a good performance," Farah said.

"It is going to be tough because they have been playing good footy over the last couple of weeks."

With Curtis Sironen, Liam Fulton and after a tumultuous week James Tedesco all returning to the Tigers side, the joint venture are set to have their first choice 17 on the park for the first time this year.

Farah said the Tigers need to take advantage, especially with the NSW No.9 and Aaron Woods set to miss the round 14 clash against South Sydney due to State of Origin commitments.

"It's good not only to have Teddy back but Liam Fulton is back , we have some others back as well, Curtis is back as well after not having played a game since the Nines," Farah said.

"It has been a long time since we have been close to full strength, so it would be nice to get a decent side to go up there and play well."
