Indigenous breast cancer survivors will soon be approached for their views on initiatives aimed at improving the lives of women with the disease.
The federal government is giving $430,000 to Breast Cancer Network Australia to continue a program that allows survivors to share their insights with researchers, clinicians and policy-makers.
Health Minister Greg Hunt said the latest rollout will be particularly focused on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and culturally and linguistically diverse women.
"It is critical to support cancer survivors translate their lived experience to improve diagnosis and treatment of others," Mr Hunt said on Sunday.
Breast cancer remains the most common cancer for Australian women, with 18,000 new cases expected to be diagnosed in 2018.
