The national body representing farmers and graziers has welcomed the federal government's decision to reinstate funding to groups and individuals fighting native title claims.
Attorney General George Brandis says from January, the Coalition government will provide more than two-million dollars over two years to assist people who demonstrate that a native title claim is likely to have a significant impact on their interests.
It comes after the Labor government in 2011 withdrew financial assistance for respondents' legal expenses.
The President of the Australian Farmers' Federation Duncan Fraser told Kristina Kukolja the restoration of funding will make the judicial process fairer for affected land owners.
