Fundraiser for Korean diver killed in Vic

Victoria's diving community has started an online fundraiser to help the family of South Korean man Bruce Gun-hui Park who was killed when he was hit by a boat.

Victoria's diving community has started an online fundraiser to help the family of a South Korean man killed when he was hit by a boat.

The GoFundMe page for Bruce Gun-hui Park is trying to raise $5000.

"The diving and boating community was shocked to hear of the tragic passing of Bruce Gun-hui Park around Frankston while spearfishing with a friend," the page reads.

"We ask for your help and donations to provide financial assistance to Bruce's family and allow them grieving time."

Surfers are also planning to paddle out at Canadian Bay Beach and form a circle to pay tribute on May 25.

The 29-year-old's father and sister have come to Melbourne and are being assisted by the South Korean embassy.

Police are still investigating the May 5 incident more than a week after officers interviewed and released a 41-year-old Carrum Downs man.

The diver and a friend were in waters off of Frankston with flags and buoys to alert boats when he was struck and killed.
