Fury sets record with 25-straight wins

The Victorian Fury have eclipsed their previous record with their wins during week one of the Australian Netball League season.

The Victorian Fury have posted their 25th consecutive win to set a new Australian Netball League record.

The Fury started the 2015 competition with a narrow 52-51 win over the Waratahs before closing the weekend by beating the Canberra Darters 59-43.

The previous 24-game winning record was also set by the Fury in 2010.

The Victorians were given a scare when the Waratahs made ground from eight goals behind in the final quarter of the season's first game only to go down by a single goal.

But the Fury were more assertive against the Darters, who also lost to the Tassie Spirit 51-37.

The Waratahs bounced back in their second game of the weekend to defeat the Spirit 66-47.
