Gable Tostee back in jail for car chase

The Gold Coast man accused of murdering his Tinder date has been sentenced to ten months' imprisonment for an unrelated police chase in July 2014.

Murder accused Gable Tostee is back behind bars after he was jailed for his involvement in an unrelated high-speed police chase last July.

Tostee, 28, was sentenced to ten months' jail in the Tweed Heads Local Court in NSW for the police pursuit, which occurred three weeks before he was charged with murder in Queensland.

He will serve six months in custody and is due to be released on parole on August 1.

Tostee, a Gold Coast carpet layer, had been on bail after being charged with murdering 26-year-old New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright.

Ms Wright plunged to her death from Tostee's 14th-floor Surfers Paradise apartment balcony last August.

The pair had met on mobile dating application Tinder.

Tostee was granted bail last November, but will now return to prison until at least August 1.

His murder charge is due to be mentioned in the Southport Magistrates Court on March 13.
