Galaxy names Iluka exec Hill as new CEO

Simon Hill, currently head of resource development at mineral sands company Iluka Resources, has been appointed CEO of Galaxy Resources.

Lithium miner Galaxy Resources has named Simon Hill as its new chief executive, replacing Anthony Tse from July 1.

Mr Hill, who is currently head of resource development at mineral sands company Iluka Resources, has held senior positions at major Australian mining companies including BHP and WMC Resources.

He will be based in Perth.

Mr Tse will transition from his current CEO and managing director position to become an executive director focusing on corporate development and marketing.

Galaxy shares were worth $2.01 before trade on Thursday, more than half the value at January 2018's seven-year high of $4.46.
