The Baird Government possesses a commanding lead over the NSW opposition on the eve of the state election, a new poll shows.
The latest pre-election Galaxy/Daily Telegraph poll shows the coalition leads Labor, on a two-party preferred basis, by 55 per cent to 45 per cent.
The poll, of 1300 voters taken over Wednesday and Thursday nights, also shows Mike Baird is the preferred premier, leading Luke Foley by 53 per cent to 25 per cent.
The primary vote also favours the Coalition, with a 45 per cent to 34 per cent lead.
Asked which way those polled would vote if an election "was held today" 25.6 per cent of those surveyed chose Labor, compared to 51.1 per cent who nominated Labor.
Just 10.3 per cent chose the Greens, while 13 per cent said they would vote for an independent candidate.
According to NewsCorp Australia, the poll represents the government's biggest lead since November, when John Robertson was Labor leader.
Speaking on Friday morning, Labor's federal infrastructure spokesman Anthony Albanese said if Luke Foley were elected on Saturday, Prime Minister Tony Abbott would be soon after removed as Liberal leader.
"Tomorrow, for example, when people in NSW vote, if ... Luke Foley is elected premier tomorrow then Tony Abbott will be gone next week," he told Network Nine.
Mr Albanese dismissed suggestions there was pressure on federal Opposition Leader Bill Shorten, due to a turnaround in the government's polling.
"If the election was held tomorrow Bill Shorten would be the prime minister," he said.
