Game of Thrones to shoot in Spain

Part of the fifth season of hit TV series Game of Thrones is to be shot in the Spanish province of Seville this year.

Film crews will shoot part of the fifth season of popular fantasy television series Game of Thrones in the countryside of southern Spain, producers said on Wednesday.

Part of the epic series "will be filmed in various natural locations in the province of Seville", capital of the Andalusia region, said a statement on the website of the regional film council attributed to HBO, the US network behind the series.

It gave few further details but said the shoot was agreed with authorities in Seville and Osuna, a small town some 80km away.

The shooting of the fifth season will begin this year in Northern Ireland, where previous seasons of the Medieval-style fantasy war series have been shot, it added.
