Gardening tip of the week
Container annuals should be fertilized occasionally but not excessively during the growing season with a liquid fertilizer diluted with water. A teaspoon of concentrate per gallon of water is enough to replenish nutrients every two weeks. Fish emulsion serves as an organic liquid feed and should be used at a cup or less per gallon. The fish smell soon dissipates. Cut back rangy growth and faded flowers to promote bushiness and rebloom.
