Gas cylinder explosion injures 77 in Spain

At least 77 people have been injured, five seriously, after a gas cylinder explosion in a Spanish town.

At least 77 people have been injured after a gas cylinder exploded in a cafe in the Spanish town of Velez-Malaga on the southern coast.

A spokesman for the Andalucia region's emergency unit says five people are being treated for serious injuries.

The explosion occurred around 5pm local time (0100 AEDT) during a festival in the town, which is close to the popular tourist destination of Malaga.
