Gautam Gambhir has stepped down as Delhi Daredevils captain in the Indian Premier League, with his team losing five of their first six matches.

Gambhir says he is quitting because he can't handle the pressure of the job. He has been replaced by 23-year-old Shreyas Aiyer, but he will continue to be a part of the team.

The Daredevils have slid to last on the table.

"I was sitting alone and thinking, I couldn't handle the pressure ... I was not good enough and that is all," Gambhir said.
