Gavrilova through to Italian Open quarters

Australian Daria Gavrilova has beaten world No.8 Svetlana Kuznetsova in three sets in the Italian Open round of 16.

Australian Daria Gavrilova has fought back from a set down to defeat No.7 seed Svetlana Kuznetsova in the Italian Open round of 16.

World No.33 Gavrilova wore down the Russian world No.8 and broke serve in the final game of the deciding set for a 2-6 7-5 6-4 victory.

Gavrilova will meet either 15th-seed Kiki Bertens or Ekaterina Makarova in the quarter-finals.
