Gay men suffer body image pressure

Two thirds of gay and bisexual men polled for a British survey on body image say they think about their body size and shape daily, if not all the time.

Almost a third of gay and bisexual men have had a surgical or non-invasive procedure to improve their looks.

A British survey has revealed that half (50 per cent) of those polled are unhappy about their body, and two-thirds think about their body size and shape on a daily basis, if not all the time.

The survey, by Gay Times, found that nearly three in five (59 per cent) feel that gay and bisexual men are under pressure to look the same as chiselled models who feature in ads.

Of the 1,100 men questioned, 30 per cent said they have had botox, 23 per cent have tried laser hair removal and 17 per cent liposuction, while 30 per cent had undergone a surgical or non-invasive procedure.
