Gazal in bid talks with Calvin Klein owner

ASX-listed Gazal Corporation is in preliminary discussions with the owner of the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands over a possible takeover deal.

Gazal Corporation is in preliminary discussions with the global owner of the Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein brands over a deal that could take the ASX-listed clothing firm private.

Gazal said in a statement to market that it was in talks with PVH over a deal but that "the discussions are at the very earliest stages".

Gazal has operated Van Heusen clothing in Australia for over 30 years under license from PVH, the US firm with whom it co-owns PVH Brands Australia, a joint venture that also owns local distribution rights to powerhouse brands including Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein.
