Will Genia has been called up to play for the Barbarians against Argentina, just one week after the Wallabies' final 2018 spring tour match against England.

Wallabies halfback Will Genia has been called up to the Barbarians squad for the fourth time for a match against Argentina at Twickenham.

He will be joined by Springboks' fly-half Handre Pollard, lock Eben Etzebeth and prop Tendai Mtawarira in the invitation-only team for the clash on December 1.

It will potentially be the second time Genia plays at Twickenham in a week with the Wallabies' final match of their spring tour against England taking place on November 24.

The Melbourne Rebels star will give Barbarians coach Pat Lam a third option for the No.9 shirt against the Pumas with Welshman Rhodri Williams and Scot Greig Laidlaw already in the squad.

Australia hooker Tatafu Polota-Nau and former Wallabies lock Sitaleki Timani are also on the team.

Genia was previously selected by the Barbarians in a 25-18 victory over the All Blacks in 2009, started in a 26-20 win over the Springboks in 2010 and also called up for two Barbarians matches last year but didn't play.
