German sprinter beats Cavendish at own game

Sprint finishes at the Tour de France have been dominated in recent years by Britain's Mark Cavendish, after all, he's won 24 stages during his career, but in this year's race, a young German is threatening his superiority.

Sprint finishes at the Tour de France have been dominated in recent years by Britain's Mark Cavendish, after all, he's won 24 stages during his career, but in this year's race, a young German is threatening his superiority.

 

Marcel Kittel didn't finish his first Tour last year, but he's definitely leaving his mark on this year's event.

 

And the 25-year-old's win in stage 12 involved him sprinting ahead of Cavendish in a dash to the line.
