Germany says it won't be supporting a call from Greece for an extension of its $A350 billion international bailout, without spending cuts.
Germany has rejected a take-it or leave-it request by Athens for the six-month extension but both sides are still hopeful a solution might be found.
European ministers will meet tomorrow to further discuss the proposal which comes as the newly elected Syriza party in Greece refuses to implement austerity reforms agreed to by the previous government.
