GI threat a concern for Titans NRL skipper

Gold Coast skipper Nate Myles fears his team will get punished in their NRL clash with South Sydney if they ignore the threat of Greg Inglis.

Forget niggling their forwards, Gold Coast enforcer Nate Myles is more worried about how to stop South Sydney star Greg Inglis.

The in-form Titans host Souths at Robina on Saturday night, aiming to continue their fine start to the NRL season.

Most of the talk in the lead-in to the game was focused on the Titans claiming they would get under the skin of the Rabbitohs' forwards, particularly English brothers Sam and George Burgess.

Myles concedes the Burgess duo deserve attention but stopping his superstar Queensland teammate Inglis is simply too big a job to be ignored in his opinion.

"He knows when to put it on," Myles told reporters on Friday.

"We focus on the Burgess boys, where's GI going to pop up?

"They're a fantastic side. I can't emphasise enough they have the runs on the board - we need to come out and start well."

Inglis already has five tries for the Rabbitohs in eight appearances this season, including a sensational individual effort against Brisbane in his last club outing.

Titans coach John Cartwright says he knows what to prepare for against the Rabbitohs, but knowing what is coming and actually doing anything about it are two different matters.

"They're a big side, very aggressive, play a really yardage-orientated game," Cartwright said.

"They've got Greg Inglis at the back who can capitalise like no other.

"I don't think there'll be any tricks there. It's whether we match them in the middle of the field and whether we're good enough to close Inglis out."

The Titans are likely to play halfback Albert Kelly and five-eighth Aidan Sezer with both completing training on Friday.

The halves pair had been in doubt but Cartwright says both will feature.

Their inclusion means Will Zillman will start at centre for the Titans in his return from an injury layoff. David Mead's good form at fullback ensures he keeps the No.1 jersey.

Paul Carter's one-game suspension means Matt Srama returns to the Titans' bench alongside Mark Ioane, Ryan James and Mark Minichiello.

The Rabbitohs have stuck with the same 17 who beat the Broncos for what coach Michael Maguire is anticipating will be a tough encounter.

"They're a really enthusiastic team and they're working really hard for each other defensively," Maguire said.

"We're going to have to be pretty sharp in everything that we're doing."
