GWS co-captain Callan Ward will end his AFL career at the club after signing a contract extension that takes him to the end of the 2021 season.

GWS co-captain Callan Ward has signed a five-year contract extension that means he will end his AFL career at the club.

The Giants announced late on Monday night that Ward would be with them at least until the end of the 2021 season.

Ward, 25, was a foundation GWS player in 2012 after four seasons with the Western Bulldogs.

He has played 143 games - 60 with the Bulldogs and 83 for GWS - and is set to be the expansion club's first 100-game player.
