A potentially life-threatening bushfire northeast of Perth has been downgraded to "watch and act" but remains out of control.
An emergency warning had been issued for eastern parts of Gidgegannup in the City of Swan, with homes on Mayo Road and Toodyay Road under threat.
Mayo Road residents were warned that it was too late to leave, take shelter in their homes and actively defend them.
While a threat to life and property remains because of changing conditions in the area, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services says the warning level has now been reduced.
The fire is moving fast towards the east in an area south of Toodyay Road and east of the Noble Falls Tavern.
It has crossed Mayo Road.
"If you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear," the DFES warned.
"There is ember attack ahead of the fire, so close all doors and windows, and turn off evaporative air conditioners, but keep water running through the system if possible.
"If you are well prepared and plan to actively defend your home, make final preparations now."
More than 100 firefighters are battling the flames and working to build containment lines.
The fire was first reported at midday on Monday.
