* Hope pulls out of the battle after being offered a $45 million "loan".
OCTOBER 2013
* Mrs Rinehart resigns as trustee but children press ahead with claim. Bianca put forward as alternate trustee.
MAY 2015
* Justice Paul Brereton finds Bianca was the best person for the job. Describes the position of trustee as a "poisoned chalice".
"(Mrs Rinehart) demonstrated that she is prepared to go to extraordinary lengths to retain control, directly or indirectly, of the Trust, and that she is capable of exerting enormous pressure, and great influence, to do so, and to secure the appointment of a trustee acceptable to her." * Launched by Bianca Rinehart and John Hancock, who took their mother and her company Hancock Prospecting to court.
* Seeking profits and are hoping to set aside the so-called Hope Downs Deed due to allegations of misleading conduct by Mrs Rinehart and her company.
* Claim they were pressured into signing a number of deeds without being told of the ramifications. The matter is ongoing.
NSW SUPREME COURT BATTLE AGAINST NINE NETWORK:
FEBRUARY 2015
* Gina Rinehart makes an urgent application for discovery to view the network's second instalment of miniseries House of Hancock.
* The series dramatised the relationship between Mrs Rinehart and her father Lang Hancock, and covered the fraught relationship between her and her father's second wife Rose Lacson.
* She won the right to view the program and reached a confidential settlement with the Nine Network over the episode.
* Shortly afterwards she launched defamation proceedings against the network. The matter is ongoing.
