Eight-year-old Asali will join her half-sisters at Monarto Zoo, where she was born, after spending seven years in Perth.
A zookeeper and veterinarian travelled with the 4.4 metre giraffe, who trained for six months to walk in and out of her specially-designed crate and feel comfortable inside.
"Once they got her into the crate, she did travel quite well," Monarto Zoo senior keeper Mark Mills told AAP on Friday.
"Giraffes don't like new things and the box, for them, can be quite imposing."
While Asali was wary on her new home, Mr Mills said he was confident she would settle back in with her family.
"She was certainly very wary of her new enclosure," he said.
"She was put inside a giraffe house here, a completely dark area, so she can calm down before she's let out into a smaller yard."
"Because their habitats are so large here, I think she'll certainly slot back in."
Asali will meet her family after spending a month in quarantine.
