Girl, 7, injured in suspicious Sydney fire

A girl has been injured in a house fire in Sydney's west, with police saying it and another fire at a vacant home may have been deliberately lit.

A girl has escaped with a minor burn in one of two suspicious house fires in Sydney's west.

The seven-year-old's leg was slightly burned as she escaped from the Blair Athol property where a car was on fire around 6.30pm on Sunday.

Emergency services were called out to the home again at 1am on Monday when the fire reignited in the roof, destroying the house.

Police are treating the blaze as suspicious.

Meanwhile, police are appealing for information after a fire at an empty house at St Marys was destroyed by fire shortly after 2am.
