Former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani says US President Barack Obama is to blame for the police shootings in Ferguson, Missouri, and other disturbing events because he sets the tone for the nation.
Giuliani told New York radio WNYM-AM that Obama isn't addressing the "enormous amount of crime" being committed by blacks.
The White House declined to comment on Giuliani's remarks.
Giuliani also says Obama should say the kinds of things comedian Bill Cosby used to say before he was accused of sexual assault, which Cosby denies.
Cosby often exhorted black people to focus on education and parenting.
Police following numerous leads in Ferguson manhunt
Police are following dozens of leads in the hunt for a shooter who wounded two police officers in Ferguson, Missouri, during a protest this week, St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar said on Friday.
Belmar told a news conference it was still unclear what kind of handgun was used or whether the shooter was deliberately aiming at police.
He could not say whether police were close to an arrest.
