Global warming prompts major sea life migration

A major international study has found profound changes in the migratory patterns of marine life globally as a result of global warming.

The investigation - the first of its kind - analysed the effects of rising sea temperatures on more than 800 marine species.

It found that marine species are migrating - in some cases by almost 500 kms in a decade - to get to cooler waters.

University of Queensland Coral reef specialist, John Pandolfi told Thisanka Siripala the changes will have long-term implications.
