Goffin loses in ATP European Open quarters

David Goffin has missed out on the chance to win third a ATP tour title this month after losing to Stefanos Tsitsipas in the European Open quarter-finals.

Top seed David Goffin has been beaten by qualifier Stefanos Tsitsipas in the quarter-finals of the ATP's European Open in Antwerp.

Chasing a third title success this month after back-to-back victories in Tokyo and Shenzhen, Belgian Goffin lost 2-6 7-6 (7-1) 7-6 (7-4) to his Greek opponent.

Fourth seed Diego Schwartzman awaits 19-year-old Tsitsipas in the last four after he saw off Spanish veteran David Ferrer 7-5 6-2.

That leaves second-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga as the main attraction after he turned in a strong show to defeat fellow Frenchman Julien Benneateau 7-6 (7-5) 6-2.

Tsonga will faces world No.98 Ruben Bemelmans in the semi-finals, after the Belgian overcame Brazilian Joao Sousa 4-6 7-6 (7/2) 6-4.
