Gold Coast Bandidos' leader granted bail

The president of a Gold Coast Bandidos' bikie gang has been granted bail after facing court on charges of steroid possession.

The president of the Gold Coast chapter of the Bandidos' bikie gang has been granted bail after his weekend arrest and ordered to stay away from Surfers Paradise and other parts of the glitter strip.

Dressed in a brown prison-issue tracksuit, 25-year-old Adam Christopher White appeared at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday.

Police raided his Carindale home on Saturday during a nationwide bikie crackdown and charged White with steroid possession and failure to dispose of a syringe.

He was already on bail for his alleged role in a violent public brawl on the Gold Coast last month which sparked the crackdown on outlaw motorcycle gangs.

White is also on a suspended sentence for a drug conviction.

Police opposed bail saying there was an unacceptable risk White would reoffend.

But after adjourning the case for several hours to consider, Magistrate John Costello said he was not convinced of the risk.

He granted bail and ordered White surrender his passport and stay away from the Gold Coast suburbs of Surfers Paradise, Southport, Labrador and Broadbeach.

White's lawyer Sam Di Carlo said his client intended to plead guilty.

Earlier Mr Di Carlo told the court White lived with his parents, was dependent on steroids and was being treated for a psychological condition.

Meanwhile, the vice president of the Bandidos' Gold Coast chapter 26-year-old Ahmed Chehab Kaddour was also granted bail in the same court.

Kaddour was charged with rioting after police allegedly identified him from video footage of last month's brawl.

Police did not oppose bail and Kaddour was ordered to surrender his passport and stay away from the Broadbeach CBD.

He was also represented by Mr Di Carlo, who said police were unfairly targeting both his clients.

Both will return to court on November 4.
