Police are still trying to figure out how a Gold Coast house party descended into violence and chaos on Saturday night.

Police are investigating after a Gold Coast party descended into chaos.

Officers responded to calls a large Varsity Lakes house party was out of control at 9.30pm on Saturday.

Police say the night turned violent when a group of juveniles, having damaged a car parked nearby, turned on the three residents of the house.

The trio - a 53-year-old woman, 57-year-old man and 49-year-old man - were all taken to Robina Hospital for facial injuries and bruising.

Media reports suggest more than 50 people spilled into the street but dispersed before police arrived.

News footage also shows cars with smashed windscreens and graffitied property.
