Golf - Three British Open spots up for grabs in France

LONDON (Reuters) - Three places for next month's British Open will be up for grabs when the French Open begins in Guyancourt on Thursday.

The Royal and Ancient said the leading three players who finish in the top 10 in France and who do not already have an Open exemption will earn a place in Carnoustie.

In the event of a tie for a qualifying place, the player with the higher ranking in the Official World Golf Ranking, as of Monday, will be awarded a place.

The British Open begins on July 19.
