Good news for Chiellini injury

Giorgio Chiellini's thigh injury is not serious, according to tests.

Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini has received good news after tests revealed that his injury sustained at the weekend is not serious.

Chiellini hurt his left thigh during Sunday's 2-2 draw at Hellas Verona and there were fears the Italy international could be out for a month.

A statement from Juventus read: "The tests done on Giorgio Chiellini have excluded any muscular lesion but have revealed swelling in the soleus (calf) muscle.

"His condition will be evaluated on a daily basis."

Chiellini is set to miss Sunday's game against Chievo but should recover in time for next Thursday's Europa League game against Trabzonspor in the last 32 of the competition.
