Goodes accepts $1000 fine for misconduct

Retiring Swans champion Adam Goodes has been fined $1000 for misconduct in his final AFL game. (AAP)

Adam Goodes has submitted an early guilty plea and accepted a $1000 sanction for lashing out with his boots at North Melbourne fullback Scott Thompson in the final match of the Sydney legend's AFL career.

Goodes was charged with misconduct for the incident in the third quarter of the Swans' season-ending 26-point loss at ANZ Stadium.

Had Goodes decided to challenge the report at the tribunal he risked been hit with a $1500 sanction.
