Adam Goodes' former coach Paul Roos says fans' excuses for booing the Sydney AFL star don't wash with him.
The current Melbourne coach said, while the issue was complex and some had jumped on the booing bandwagon, fans needed some immediate introspection.
"To say we boo him for staging for free-kicks and because he whinges - he's been playing for 17 years," said Roos on Thursday.
"I think if you boo this week, it's pretty obvious what your thoughts are."
