Prime Minister Tony Abbott insists his government has a solid record of achievement and that he'll remain leader, despite some problem getting legislation through the Senate.
He dismissed as "nonsense, absolute nonsense", speculation he might not lead his party into the next federal election because he is so unpopular.
One lesson learned from the previous Labor government is that you rally behind someone, "and you stick to the plan", Mr Abbott told Fairfax radio on Melbourne, where he was quizzed about whether his government was in strife.
"I say look at the record," Mr Abbott said.
"I think last year's record is a record of solid achievement."
