Mrs Bishop has offered to pay back more than $5200, plus a 25 per cent loading, claimed for a chartered helicopter flight between Melbourne and the Clifton Springs Golf Club on November 5 last
year.
Ms Burke says mistakes can be made, but there's a difference between doing something deliberately, knowingly, and doing it unwittingly and the government has to deal with it.
Labor hasn't ruled out referring the matter to the Australian Federal Police as Mrs Bishop would have signed a form confirming the helicopter charter was for "official business".
Labor frontbencher Tony Burke says the Speaker should publicly release a copy of the signed form.
