Govt seeks to launch space industry jobs

A report due to go to the federal government in October will explore opportunities for jobs in the space industry.

The federal government has commissioned a report into the future of Australia's space industry.

The report, due to be completed by the end of October, will assess what Australia is doing in terms of civil space-related technology.

It will also examine domestic and global supply chain opportunities and study some of the success stories in the industry.

A draft report is expected to go to Industry Minister Ian Macfarlane in August.
