GPT Group has appointed Frasers Australand boss Bob Johnston as its new chief executive.

Property firm GPT Group has appointed current Frasers Australand managing director Bob Johnston as its new chief executive.

Mr Johnston is expected take over from outgoing CEO Michael Cameron in mid- to late-January, at the end of a six-month notice period with his current employer.

He headed the then Australian-listed Australand Property Group for seven years prior to its takeover by Singapore-based Frasers Centrepoint in 2014 and has remained with the firm since the merger.
