In a blow to Cronulla's hopes of avoiding the wooden spoon, in-form back-rower Wade Graham is set to miss the rest of the NRL season with a foot injury.

Graham has been one of the Sharks best throughout a miserable season and was rewarded when he joined the NSW camp as a shadow player in their successful State of Origin campaign.

Graham suffered the injury in Saturday's 32-12 round-21 loss to Parramatta at Remondis Stadium.

Injured Sharks skipper Paul Gallen (biceps) revealed on Triple M on Sunday that Graham will likely miss the rest of the season with the complaint.

Scans on Monday are likely to reveal the full extent of the injury.

Gallen might return for the Sharks' trip to Auckland next round to face the rampant Warriors, who did Cronulla plenty of favours in thrashing Canberra 54-18 in the nation's capital on Sunday to put the Raiders well and truly in contention for last place.
