Canterbury captain James Graham's move to NRL rivals St George Illawarra on a three-year deal has been confirmed.

England forward Graham joined Canterbury in 2012, playing in the 2012 and 2014 grand finals, and was appointed skipper in 2015.

Graham's departure will help alleviate salary-cap pressure on Canterbury for next season, after their expensive recruitment of Aaron Woods and Kieran Foran.
