CCTV footage has captured the moment a baby's stroller rolled onto the train tracks at a platform in western Sydney.

The shocking footage shows the stroller rolling onto the train tracks while her family is looking the other way.

The baby girl's grandfather can then be seen rushing after the stroller and jumping onto the tracks.

The girl’s uncle, Paraminder Singh, told Seven News it happened in an instant.

"The pram rolled over to the tracks straight away and my dad had to jump down to save the baby,” he said.

Seven News reports that the family was lucky to avoid an oncoming fright train, that was just one minute away.

The girl was taken to Westmead Children's Hospital after being treated by paramedics at the scene.

She has since been released.
